History

The Soar Boating Club was founded by a group of enthusiastic pleasure boaters in July 1953. Membership increased over the years and the club was able to buy its own riverside HQ at Normanton on Soar. Subsequently, the club gave a home to a group of “paddlers” canoeists, kayakers and stand up paddleboarders.
